Thomas, Thomas, Armstrong & Niesen Attorney Named 2006 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer

Thomas, Thomas, Armstrong & Niesen is pleased to announce that Patricia Armstrong, a founding partner of the law firm, has been named a 2006 Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” in a recent survey conducted by Law & Politics, a division of Key Professional Media, Inc.  The annual survey was published in the June 2006 edition of Philadelphia Magazine and in the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine.

More than 36,000 attorneys across the state nominated the best lawyers they have personally observed in action for this honor.  Nominations for the award were based on criteria including: professional activities; creativity and innovation in the legal profession; years in practice; position within firm; number of cases tried or transactions handled; noteworthy verdicts or settlements; honors; community involvement and volunteer work; professional degrees or training; and academic background.  After a rigorous screening and blue ribbon panel review process, the top vote-getters were selected as Pennsylvania “Super Lawyers.”  Only 5% of all Pennsylvania attorneys were awarded this distinction.

Patricia Armstrong was recognized as a Super Lawyer in the area of Energy and Natural Resources.  She has nearly 30 years of experience in the practice of utility law, representing electric, gas, water, telecommunications, sewer and motor carrier clients in ratemaking, certificate applications, and other regulatory proceedings before administrative agencies and appellate courts.  Patty has provided extensive service in conjunction with secured and unsecured financings, public and private placements, municipal financings and loans by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, the Rural Utilities Service, and the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation.  She has lectured in the area of public utility law and energy at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and numerous industry related conferences.

Patty is the second Thomas, Thomas, Armstrong & Niesen attorney to earn this distinction.  In 2004, Charles E. Thomas, Jr. was recognized as Pennsylvania’s only Utilities Law “Super Lawyer.”
